58 families benefit from cash-for-work program

MEXICO, Pampanga -- Some 58 families who volunteered their services in Barangay Tangle here received Wednesday their salaries under the cash-for-work program implemented by the Provincial Government.
Governor Lilia Pineda, along with other provincial officials, led the distribution of salaries to families who performed community work for the past few days.
These cash-for-work beneficiaries were tasked to clean the barangay and its major facilities for the convenience of the residents. Each of them got at least P7,500 in exchange for their voluntary works.
Aside from this, the Provincial Government likewise provided food assistance to the beneficiaries and other residents.
Earlier, a seven-year-old girl was reportedly raped and then set on fire after her body was found by her grandmother in a grassy area in Barangay Tangle here.
With this, Governor Pineda ordered concerned barangay officials and residents to voluntarily clean their communities to prevent the occurrence of another untoward incident victimizing innocent individuals. (Herbert P. Mapiles)
