CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Some 2,000 indigent high school students from this city and Sta. Ana town have received P1 million worth of financial assistance.
The beneficiaries came from San Fernando West Integrated School (418 beneficiaries), St. Vincent Quebiawan Integrated School (314), San Isidro High School Sta. Ana (491), and Madapdap High School (525).
Third district Representative Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales led the awarding of the grants Friday at the said schools with former city mayor Reynaldo Aquino.
The beneficiaries are under the "Iskolar ng Dong" program and are part of the 40,000 scholars of Gonzales from high school, college, elementary and pre-school, as well as beneficiaries enrolled in technical vocational courses.
The scholarship program takes in scholars without having to maintain a specific grade requirement.
Gonzales is also set to award financial assistances in various towns of the district this coming week for the School Year 2013-2014.
