CLARK FREEPORT -- Senator Edgardo Angara vowed to support the call of traders, non-government organizations and local officials in Pampanga for the full development of Clark International Airport.
Angara signified its support during a recent meeting with members and officers of the Alliance for the Development of Central Luzon and Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry Incorporated (PamCham).
Some of the agenda discussed during the meeting were the development of Clark as a premier airport, development of expressway linking western and eastern Luzon, and the development of Central Luzon as the new metropolis to decongest Metro Manila.
“Of course, we support the development of Clark International Airport and Central Luzon because I belong to this region. I come from Baler, Aurora,” Angara said.
The senator said overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from the whole Luzon area will benefit from the full operation of Clark airport.
“Majority ng mga OFWs at Balik Bayan ay mula sa Luzon area. Napakalaking convenience para sa ating mga Kababayan kung ma-develop ang Clark International Airport,” Angara said.
Surrounding areas will be developed and Aurora and Zambales will have a link, according to Angara.
“Mababawasan ang congestion sa Manila [pag na-develop ang Central Luzon],” he said.
Angara underscored the need to have a central development platform among various sectors in the region. “Ang importante ay magkasundo-sundo tayo at magkaroon ng consensus na dapat ay mapag-aralan ng husto,” he said.
