CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Board Members Monina Laus and Trina Dizon took to the roads of the City of San Fernando, Bacolor, Mexico, Sta. Ana and Arayat early morning of Sunday in their efforts to retain their seats at the Provincial Board.

Thousands of supporters -- unmindful of the summer heat -- greeted the pink-colored motorcade, with the women lawmakers handing out shirts, ballers and hand fans.

"Sigurado pong maipagpapatuloy ng dalawang babaeng board members ang kanilang trabaho at mga proyekto, lalo na marami na silang naumpisahan," said 52-year-old loyal supporter Grace Gatchalian, who was with other elders near Capitol.

Laus, the wife of the late Board Member Ceferino "Pinong" Laus, has been carrying on the dedicated and committed service of the lawmaker, especially with health care programs as the Provincial Board’s chairman of the Committee on Health.

Dizon, on the on the other hand, is credited for creating the historic Child Abuse Prevention and Intervention Network, and for authoring and sponsoring such landmark legislation like the Gender and Development Code.

"Iba pa rin kasing manungkulan ang mga babae kagaya ni [Governor] Nanay Baby [Pineda]. May puso at tunay na pagkalinga at pagmamahal tulad ni Board Member Monz at Trina," Gatchalian and her group said.
