New Candaba mayor proclaimed-A A +A

CANDABA -- An official of the Commission on Elections led on Tuesday the proclamation of Rene Maglanque as the duly elected mayor of this town.
Maglanque was former assistant secretary of the Department of Transportation and Communications.
Hilda Dizon-Dimaano, municipal election officer, together with members of the board of canvassers led the proclamation on Tuesday.
Maglanque bested three other mayoralty candidates, namely Reynaldo Sagum, Patrick Gerard Pelayo, and Danilo Baylon.
Maglanque garnered 14,730 votes with a difference of less than 100 votes to his closest rival Sagum, while his running mate, Vice Mayor Normita Evangelista, got some 20,402 votes.
He thanked the people, saying they could expect more infrastructure projects under his administration.
Also proclaimed as elected municipal councilors are Thelma Macapagal, Amy Rose Baylon, Randy Turla, Carol Foz, Cha Cha Sombillio, and Goding Pelayo. (Herbert P. Mapiles)
