CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- President Benigno Aquino III’s sister and popular showbiz personality Kris Aquino over the weekend distributed thousands of packs of relief goods to flood victims.
Aquino, who first distributed the relief packs in Magalang town with First District Representative Joseller “Yeng” Guiao mid-afternoon, was accompanied by sister Balsy.
The relief goods, packed in eco-bags, consisted of canned goods, noodles, rice, bottled water and chocolate drink.
At about 6:00 p.m., Aquino arrived at Heroes Hall in this city, accompanied by Third District Representative Oscar Rodriguez, and was welcomed by Mayor Edwin Santiago, Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin, private sector representatives and other city officials.
“Malugod po naming ipinapaabot ang pagtulong mula sa ating Pangulo at mga kaibigan na nagmamahal sa inyo. Asahan po ninyo ang aming patuloy na pagtulong especially in times like this,” she said.
More than 1,500 patiently waited for the Aquino sisters queued in line, shaking their hands and kissing them in appreciation.
“Maraming maraming salamat po sa inyo at sa mahal nating Pangulo,” they cheered.
Similarly, Santiago thanked the Aquino sisters for their assistance.
“It is in times like this that we get so much help and in return, allow us to help others too, like our kabalens in neighboring towns,” Santiago said.
