CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The City Council of San Fernando has a new home.
The council held its 9th regular session at the refurbished Jose Abad Santos Conference Hall at Heroes Hall in this city. It would serve as the exclusive official venue for its meetings, hearings and special gatherings.
The new session hall was recognized by virtue of Ordinance 2013-001 authored by Majority Floor Leader Dein Henson, which amends the provision on Rules and Procedures regarding the venue of sessions of the council.
The 5th City Council is headed by Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin.
City Council Secretary Lynn Lagman told Sun.Star Pampanga that the offices of the legislators will also be transferred adjacent to the new session hall.
"Our councilors' offices and that of the secretary will also be transferred here. The vice mayor meanwhile, will retain its office at the old session hall at City Hall, along with the office of Mayor Edwin Santiago," she said.
Lagman said that the old session hall and offices vacated by the councilors will be used by other departments like the city accountant, budget and city environment office among others.
"Other official functions like the regular Monday flag-raising ceremonies will still be at City Hall as desired by Mayor Santiago," said Lagman.
