CLARK FREEPORT -- Governor Lilia Pineda reiterated on Thursday to local officials gathered for the “Convergence of Pampanga Legislators” in this Freeport the benefits of public-private partnerships or PPP.
During the “convergence” branded as the first ever of its kind in the country, Governor Pineda said that PPPs “ensure the efficient and effective implementation programs and projects of local government units, particularly those focused on health.”
“Government cannot do it alone with the very limited resources we have. PPPs will work well for LGUs, that is why I am urging mayors and their respective Sanggunians to study carefully and immediately PPPs,” she said.
Meanwhile, Philippine Councilors League-Pampanga Chapter president Mike Tapang, who co-hosted the gathering, said that the convergence themed “Synchronization of Development Programs in the Province,” aims to develop a policy framework that will sync legislation from the barangay level to the provincial level.
Tapang, also an ex-officio board member, said Capitol and the Provincial Board were most willing to lend a lend to the needs of various councils in formulating and completing their legislative measures as required by the interior department.
