CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Pampanga third district Representative Oscar Rodriguez disclosed over the weekend that he has set the ball rolling at the 16th Congress for the conversion of the City of San Fernando from being a component city to a highly urbanized one.
Rodriguez, who chairs the House of Representatives' committee on good government and public accountability, said the conversion is a pre-requisite for it to become a lone district.
"I have filed the appropriate resolution seeking for the conversion of the City of San Fernando from being a component city to a highly urbanized city. It is a requirement in our quest for it to become a lone district in the near future," he shared.
Rodriguez added that he has already submitted to the House the draft bill for the city's lone district bid.
"We are optimistic that the City Council of San Fernando will come out with the necessary legislative measure supporting our desire. Everything, including the needed plebiscite, will then follow," he quipped.
Rodriguez also revealed of another bill he will propose and file at the Congress, this time focusing on consumer and investors’ protection.
