CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Hausland's Fiesta Communities is eyeing a public-private partnership (PPP) with Capitol dubbed "Handog Pabahay" program.
In the recent regular session of the Provincial Board, Hausland president Willy Tan said that he had discussed the proposal with Governor Lilia Pineda, whom he said reacted positively to the project.
In the proposal, Tan stressed that his truly-Kapampangan company with several existing and on-going projects in Pampanga, will handle the development and documentation of the housing units for Capitol employees wishing to avail of homes at discounted rates on a long term basis.
"So far, however, there is no suitable land we could develop for Capitol. The land owned by the provincial government in Barangay San Pedro Cutud is not feasible because it is near the tail dike and other concerns like accessibility. That is why we are presenting options to you so we would know what directions to take regarding the partnership. We think it should be realized now so we could start the site development by December this year," said Tan.
He added that Hausland is more than willing to offer its existing projects under the same terms while Capitol looks for an appropriate site for the housing project which would later on be worked out.
"We could offer to Capitol employees our Fiesta Communities project in Sabanilla, Mexico. It is just one and a half kilometers from SM City Pampanga and minutes away from Capitol. It does not get flooded, is accessible and is near commercial areas and schools. We are more than willing to extend special discounts and low interest rates for interested employees," Tan said.
First District Board Member Crisostomo Garbo, for his part, told Tan that the collegial body will discuss Hausland’s options with Governor Pineda this week.
