Maglanque: I resigned at DOTC in 2004-A A +A

CANDABA - The local chief executive of this town on Wednesday clarified that since January 5, 2004, he is no longer connected with the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC).
Mayor Rene Maglanque said that he tendered his letter of resignation in preparation for the 2004 elections where he ran for congressman.
He made the statement in response to the story published in newspaper dragging the mayor's name in the alleged anomaly at the DOTC in 2005.
"I am no longer privy to any dealing or transaction that transpired within the department from the date I am resigned," Maglanque said.
The mayor said that it would be unfair to hold him accountable for transactions made beyond his term of office as DOTC assistant secretary.
"Luy's claim was confirmed in a 2005 Commission on Audit (COA) report on the DOTC. The COA uncovered a P40.234-million computer supply scam of which Jo-Chris accounted for more than half of the deals," said Maglanque, citing a portion of the story published in the newspaper.
"Anong kinalaman natin dito eh wala na tayo sa department sa panahong ito," he ended.
