CAMP OLIVAS -- Chief Superintendent Edgardo Ladao, after almost two years' tour of duty as Police Regional Office-3 (PRO3) director, will finally be relieved from his assignment.
Chief Superintendent Raul Petrasanta, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Firearms and Explosive Division (FED) based at Camp Crame in Quezon City, will be installed as the new PRO3 director.
A simple turn-over ceremony will be held at the Camp Crame on Monday, according to a source at the regional police headquarters.
Ladao was installed as PRO3 police director on May 2, 2011. He replaced Chief Superintendent Alan Purisima, now PNP Chief.
He was the first PRO3 director who lasted two years and six months in his tour of duty, a police officer said.
Ladao, during his stay here, made big accomplishments during the Midterm elections because there were no reported casualties in Nueva Ecija, considered as an election-critical area in the region.
This was accomplished by Ladao by creating a Regional Special Operations Task Group, which supervised the movement of politicians and alleged criminal groups in Nueva Ecija.
Last year, Ladao was rumored to be appointed to the PNP's Criminal Investigation and Detection Group at Camp Crame, National Capital Region Police Office and Civilian Security Group, but all these did not materialize.
After PRO3, Ladao will be assigned to the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations in Western Mindanao.
Ladao is a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class ‘82 while Petrasanta is a member of PMA Class ‘84. (Ric Sapnu)
