Plane makes emergency landing in Zambales lahar trail-A A +A

CAMP OLIVAS -- A Cessna 152 aircraft made an emergency landing at the Sta. Fe lahar trail in Barangay Sta. Fe in San Marcelino town, Zambales last Wednesday, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
CAAP said the plane's two passengers, Captain Eliseo de Luna, instructor pilot and student pilot Christopher Logro, were found alive.
Radio reports said the training aircraft Cessna 152 plane (RPC-8832) crashed over the lahar trail at about 8:25 am.
Senior Superintendent Manuel Abu, Zambales police provincial director, said the aircraft, owned by Omni Aviation Corporation, was en route to Baguio when its engine developed trouble and lost power, Abu said.
The pilot immediately made an emergency landing at a lahar area in Sito O-It, Barangay Sta. Fe, San Marcelino town.
Police and CAAP said the two were not hurt and that an investigation is ongoing on the cause of the crash. (Ric Sapnu/JK/Sunnex)
