CAMP OLIVAS -- Police arrested a school janitor for killing a nun and a teacher in Hermosa, Bataan last Friday.
In a report, Senior Superintendent Audie Atienza, Bataan police provincial director, identified the arrested suspect as Michelle Dabu, 39, janitor of Siena College of Hermosa.
The suspect hacked to death Sister Ceferina Alvarez, 60, and Kinder-A teacher Ana Marie Ocampo, 29, a resident of Barangay Prado Siongco, Lubao, Pampanga.
Atienza said the suspect was seen leaving the school premises before the discovery of the two victims.
He said the Hermosa police immediately arrested Dabu, who by then allegedly changed clothes and was among the many residents watching the dead bodies.
The body of the teacher was bound, sprawled on the school grounds near the main entrance of the school, while the nun was found inside the laundry room at the second floor of the convent.
During the interrogation, Dabu -- who resides near the said school -- admitted using a bolo to kill the victims.
He told police that he has been working for a number of years as janitor, caretaker and maintenance man of the said school.
The report said the suspect allegedly tried to molest Ocampo, who was inside her classroom.
However, the report said the teacher was able to free herself and ran toward the convent where Sister Alvarez was washing clothes inside the laundry room at the second floor.
The convent was more than 100 meters away from the school.
The suspect then gave chase and saw the teacher seeking cover near the old nun and hacked Sister Alvarez, and again chased the teacher who dashed outside the convent.
The janitor overtook the teacher near the main entrance of the school and hacked her, the report said.
Atienza said the two victims were the only ones in the school because there were no classes on Friday, with other nuns and teachers reportedly on a seminar or a field trip. (Ric Sapnu)
