Central Luzon cops hold raids of illegal fireworks factories-A A +A

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — In its continuing efforts to help reduce casualty figures due to firecrackers before the end of the year, the Central Luzon police has confiscated illegal fireworks and pyrotechnics from warehouses and stores within the region especially in Bulacan.
On December 27 alone, joint elements of Bulacan Provincial Police Office Intelligence Brach, Bocaue Municipal Police Station and Provincial Public Safety Company raided an illegal firecracker/pyrotechnics manufacturer located at Sitio Daang Riles, Brgy Bundukan, Bocaue, Bulacan which resulted in the seizure of large quantities of chemicals and finished and unfinished pyrotechnics and firecrackers.
Nine persons were arrested and taken to the Bulacan Provincial Police Office for filing of appropriate charges for Violation of Republic Act 7183 (An Act regulating the manufacture, sale, distribution and use of firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices).
The PRO3 in a statement reminds the public to refrain from using prohibited firecrackers to avoid any untoward incidents during the celebration of the New Year.
