ANGELES CITY -- A Nissan Frontier wagon plummeted from the Pasig-Potrero Bridge of the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx) Thursday, resulting in the death of one of its five passengers.
The accident happened along the SCTEx section in Porac town.
SCTEx and North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) management media relations officer Francisco Dagohoy said, one passenger died while being taken to the Mabalacat District Hospital in Mabalacat City.
The Nissan Frontier (BCG 865) was said to be cruising the SCTEx’s northbound lane when it fell from the Pasig-Potrero Bridge at 3:42 a.m.
It was not yet clear from reports as of press time if the fatality was driving the vehicle because he was found on the front passenger seat when the SCTEx emergency and rescue team extricated him.
His other companions were reportedly taken to hospitals in Angeles City.
Police investigation is on-going on the said accident.
Dagohoy said the accident happened past the damaged approach of the bridge. A temporary steel bridge reinforced that damaged portion.
