Trader: Optimization of Subic to complete ‘golden triangle’-A A +A

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Top businessman and Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (PamCham) chairman Emeritus Levy P. Laus shared over the weekend that optimizing the use of the seaport in Subic will complete the "golden triangle," which encompasses Central, North and South Luzon.
After he, officials of PamCham and other business executives from the region met Senator Alan Peter Cayetano for a countryside development plan contained in the latter’s report "Inclusive Growth Means Looking Beyond Metro Manila," last Friday at the Laus Group headquarters in this city, the idea of maximizing the potential of Subic seaport was brought up.
“Optimizing and improving the port in Subic will certainly bring in more opportunities and investments in the region. It will certainly complement the attention being given to Clark Freeport and its airport as started by Congressman Yeng Guiao,” Laus told Sun.Star Pampanga.
He added that through improvement of services at the port, the implementation of an incentive program and maximization of logistics are seen to boost economic activity in Central and North Luzon, just like what the Batangas Port has done for the south.
Cayetano himself earlier noted that decongesting the Port of Manila and relocating some of its departments to Batangas has immensely spurred economic activities in Laguna, Cavite and even as far as Quezon province. (JTD)
