CAMP OLIVAS -- A teen actor and three others were arrested by combined operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Angeles City Public Safety Company and 302nd Air Force Intelligence while in the act of smoking marijuana during the International Music Festival held at Clark Freeport, Sunday.
PDEA-Central Luzon Director Jeoffrey Tacio identified the arrested as Keith Thompson of the TV series "Galema," a resident of Angeles City; Juan Paulo Serafica, 19, of Quezon City; Geano Dionisio, 23, also of Quezon City, and a 17-year-old, of Mabalacat City, Pampanga.
Also invited for further investigation were a 16-year-old minor and Khali Bognot, 27, both residents of Angeles City, said Tacio.
He said that joint operatives led by Director Raymond Lopez who were deployed at the 7107 International Music Festival conducted an anti-narcotic operation at the vicinity of Global City, Clark Freeport.
During the operation, Tacio said that a stainless box containing suspected marijuana dried leaves and a lighter was confiscated from Thompson and a piece of marijuana stick from Dionisio, while a transparent plastic sachet containing a blue tablet suspected as Valium, and a smoking pipe with marijuana residue from Serafica were seized.
He said that cases of possession of dangerous drugs and use of dangerous drugs are being prepared against the arrested.
Both the 16- and 17-year old teenagers were turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Tacio said although they were minors, they will be liable under Republic act 9344 or the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006, if the court finds that they violated the anti-drugs law.
The three others who were invited by PDEA were reportedly released after an investigation, the report said. (Ric Sapnu)
