ANGELES CITY - The International School for Culinary Arts and Hotel Management (ISCAHM) has opened its third campus here.

ISCAHM Pampanga, which is situated at the Batis Asul along the MacArthur Highway in Barangay Santo Domingo, is the firm’s first campus in Central Luzon.

ISCAHM Chairman Hans Schallenberg said they decided to locate in Pampanga, which is considered as one of the food capitals of the country, because of the province's strategic location and rapid growth.

He cited Kapampangan’s passion on food and cooking.

Chef Norbert Gandler, ISCAHM Executive Director for Culinary Education, said ISCAHM Pampanga, like its two campuses in Katipunan and Cebu, will offer students diploma in Culinary Arts and Kitchen Management and in Pastry and Bakery Arts and Kitchen Management with Australian Certificate III.

The certificates will help ISCAHM graduates gain better employment opportunities in 5, 6 or 7-star hotels in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK and other trade partners and members of the Commonwealth of Nations, according to Gandler.

Students will be trained on international five-star hospitality standard under the guidance of professional culinary and hospitality artists.

“They will learn the latest techniques and trends in a friendly and familiar environment

Gandler said students will undergo six months on theories and another six months on actual food preparation inside kitchens similar with that of five-star hotels.

During a press conference over the weekend, ISCAHM executives showed local newsmen the school’s facilities including two large kitchens worth P6 million each.

Chefs Kenneth Lee O Cacho and Manoj Da Silva will head ISCAHM Pampanga, which is also offering catering services for birthday parties and weddings.

Gandler clarified that they are not using students in their catering services. He said that their training will allow them to experience standard hotel and restaurant food serving services.

The school also maintains a function room for special events like seminars and other events.
