LUBAO -- The famous game character “Angry Bird” will be one of the 35 giant hot air balloons to fly over this town and Bataan during the Philippine International Balloon Festival set April 10 to 13 in Barangay Prado Siongco here.

"We are inviting everyone. The children will be delighted because the ‘Angry Bird’ hot air balloon will be one of them," Lubao Mayor Mylyn Cayabyab said.

Pilipinas International Balloon Festival, Inc. chairman Hilario Castro, Jr. confirmed that at present, 35 balloonists from 18 countries have signified their participation in the festival.

Among the 35 balloons from all over the world, 27 are ordinary balloons and eight are “special-shaped” like Angry Bird, Superbike, and Simba the Lion. The balloons will take off from a 250-hectare world-class tourism estate here.

Castro said that the hot air balloons will fly 60 to 90-minutes. Chase crews riding in 4×4 vehicles will be deployed to make sure that they will be on about three landing sites in Dinalupihan, Hermosa and Orani, Bataan for pick-up.

Thousands of local and international tourists are expected to troop to the festival organized by the Pilipinas International Balloon Festival, Inc. and the provincial government’s Arts, Culture and Tourism Office.
