CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- Combined operatives of the Regional Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-3 (PDEA3) and Regional Anti-Illegal Special Operations Drugs Task Group (RAIDSOTG) on Wednesday raided a suspected "shabu tiangge" in Barangay Dau, Mabalacat City, and arrested a suspected notorious illegal drug trader and high value target.
PDEA-3 Director Jeoffrey Tacio identified the suspect as Levi Pamintuan, a resident of Roxas Street, Barangay Dau of the said city.
Tacio said PDEA3 agents and RAIDSOTG operatives conducted casing and surveillance against a suspected "shabu tiangge" for several weeks until it was confirmed by reports.
He said the raid was conducted by virtue of a search warrant issued by the Executive Judge of Regional Trial Court branch 57 of Angeles City for subjects Pamintuan, Michelle Garcia alias Tisay, Boyet Garcia alias Obet and Nilo Garcia alias Shane, all of the said barangay.
Tacio said that during the raid, Tisay, Obet and Shane were able to elude arrest and only Pamintuan was nabbed.
Pamintuan, who was later identified as Lhevie David, is one of the sources of illegal drugs in Mabalacat City, he said.
The said suspect and his cohorts were reportedly the major distributors of illegal drugs not only in Mabalacat City but also in nearby towns and cities.
The suspects can dispose 10 to 20 grams of shabu daily, Tacio said.
The raiding team also confiscated several pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia, and cash worth P 42,390.
Tacio said illegal possession of prohibited drugs has been filed in court against David, while charges of illegal possession of prohibited drugs are being prepared against his three cohorts. (Ric Sapnu)
