Dole all set for 112th Labor Day

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Department of Labor and Employment Central Luzon Office-Central Luzon (Dole-3) has revealed the agency’s activities for the upcoming 112th Labor Day celebration in May 1.

The Mega Job Fairs will be held in: SM City malls in Baliuag and Marilao in Bulacan; Pampanga, Clark, and San Fernando downtown in Pampanga; Tarlac City, and Olongapo City, and SM Mega Center in Cabanatuan City.

Other Job Fair venues include Camp Servillano Aquino in San Miguel, Tarlac; Capitol Grounds in Baler, Aurora, and President Ramon F. Magsaysay Sports Complex in Candelaria, Zambales.

In May 2, job fairs are set in Nueva Ecija at the Provincial Capitol Compound in Cabanatuan City, while in May 12 the job offers will be held at the Talavera Gymnasium in Talavera. Another one is set in May 6 at the People’s Center Provincial Capitol Compound in Balanga City, Bataan.

Job vacancies for local employment include professionals, managers, supervisors, customer service representatives, call center agents, sales clerks, office clerks, production workers, machine operators, and service workers; while professionals, engineers, administrative assistants, cooks, waiters/waitresses, construction workers, plumbers, and factory workers are needed for overseas employment.

Jobseekers may avail of various pre-employment services such as issuances of birth certificates, NBI clearances, and PhilHealth cards.

Dole regional director Raymundo G. Agravante said, in an earlier statement, that 19,882 jobs, 9,244 for local and 10,638 for overseas, will be up for grabs from 404 participating companies, 320 of them local and the remaining 84 for overseas.

Agravante urges jobseekers to bring multiple copies of their resumes, certificates of employment, transcript of records, clearance, photos, and other pertinent pre-employment documents needed by employers.

Livelihood and Service Fairs will also be held in selected provinces where the Dole’s accredited co-partners and beneficiaries, which were provided financial assistance under the Dole’s Integrated Livelihood Program, will showcase, display, and sell their different products.

Beneficiaries of the Dole’s Kabuhayan Starter KITS project, specifically massage therapists and haircutters, who graduated from Tesda, will also be present to provide free services to participating clients, jobseekers, and visitors.

This year's Laboy Day celebration has the them: “Sa Sipag, Tiyaga at Talino, Buong Mundo, Saludo sa Manggagawang Pilipino.”
