FOR the second time in three years, CLTV36 won the Best TV Station in the provincial category of the prestigious Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) Golden Dove Awards held on April 29 at Star Theater, CCP Complex in Pasay City.
The KBP is the industry association of the broadcast media in the country. The winners of the Golden Dove Awards are chosen from its members by independent jurors representing the youth, academe, religious groups, advertising industry and government.
CLTV36, Central Luzon’s number one TV station, also garnered nominations for its programs in two other categories. The public affairs talk show "So to Speak," and the political program "Hamon Central Luzon" were nominated for Best Public Affairs TV Program in the provincial category, and its flagship news broadcast, "Balitang Central Luzon" was among those nominated for the Best TV Newscast Program in the provincial category.
CLTV36 president and general manager Sonia Soto, in her acceptance speech, thanked the organizers of the awards for the honor, and also thanked the management and the CLTV36 staff for their valuable contributions to the station.
"This Golden Dove trophy captures all the hard work, ingenuity, dreams and resolve of not only the entire staff and crew of CLTV36, but also of all the people of Central Luzon, to whom we share this award," said Soto.
CLTV36 has been a consistent nominee at the KBP Awards and recognized for the excellence of its hosts and programming. It is also the first regional TV station in Central Luzon to be nominated and awarded as the Best TV Station in the provincial category at the 20th KBP Golden Awards in 2011. (PR)
