CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – "I am vindicated and can assure Kapampangans and everyone again that I never misused public funds."

Thus, said Pampanga Third District Representative Oscar Rodriguez on Wednesday, smiling and heaving a sigh of relief after his name was not among those in the list of whistle blower Benhur Luy, which was made public and published in the Philippine Daily Inquirer on Wednesday.

"I believe the list and files made public is very credible compared to the list submitted to the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee by Senator Ping Lacson. That Lacson list was recklessly released even if it was not verified," he said.

Rodriguez told Sun.Star Pampanga that members of the House of Representatives have called for an immediate but deeper investigation on the multiple "Napolists."

"Tumawag na kami ng mabilisan at malawakang imbestigasyon tungkol sa mga listahan na iyan na puno ng kawalanghiyaan at alegasyon. Sa katulad kong walang kinalaman diyan ay nakakabahala ang implikasyon. But I am definite that the truth will prevail as it is starting now," he said.

Rodriguez reiterated that he had never met Janet Napoles nor dealt with any of her bogus non-government organizations (NGOs).

"I never had any transactions with Napoles or those NGOs linked to her. When I was in Congress from 1987 to 1992, and in 1995 to 2004, wala akong PDAF o CDF (Countryside Development Fund) na nagamit sa mga NGO. Walang dumaan sa mga NGO," said Rodriguez, adding that during his stints, his CDF was allocated every year for identified projects and purposes.

"Every year, iyung P9-million, palaging allotted sa scholars. The more or less P4-million is distributed to JB Lingad Hospital, Kidney Center at Heart Center. The P2-million is released to barangays and municipalities and to the province for their small projects. So definitely, on a yearly basis, mayroon na iyang pupuntahan, iyung aking CDF. And definitely, hindi ako gumamit ng NGO," said Rodriguez.

While debates on the controversial lists rage, Rodriguez assured Pampanga and Third District constituents that he is clean and clear.

"Kaya pong naniniwala sa akin, patuloy po ninyong asahan na hindi ako gagawa ng mali na makakasira sa akin, sa pamilya ko, sa serbisyo, at makakasira sa inyo at sa tiwala ninyo sa aking panunungkulan. Nalilinawan na natin ngayon. Definitely on my own, I would not and never enter into an anomalous transaction or wrongdoing," said Rodriguez. (JTD)
