CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Provincial Government of Pampanga and the Pampanga police office have strengthened the fight against crimes following the launch of an enhanced tactical course targeting motorcycle-riding criminals.
During the launching of the "Tactical Motorcycle Riding Crash Course" at the Pampanga Provincial Police here, Board Member Rosve Henson said that Capitol and the PPPO led by Senior Superintendent Marlon Valdez Madrid agreed to continuously train policemen and officers in stopping criminals using motorcycles in their illegal trade.
Henson said Governor Lilia Pineda will give again at least six 250cc motorcycles costing some P280,000 each to the police in the boosted drive versus motorcycle riding criminals. The governor had already given at least 30 250cc motorcycles to the PPPO since she assumed her post in 2010.
"Our cops must have powerful motorcycles so that they can catch the suspects,” said Henson, chair of the Provincial Board (PB)’s committee on peace and order. He added that Governor Pineda and Madrid want to train the entire Pampanga police force, even if the course costs P90,000 per session.
“The more we train, the better we can respond to suspects’ riding-in-tandem at any time. The course cost at least P90,000 per session. The amount is nothing if the mayors will help finance it. Then we have the governor and vice governor who are consistent in supporting the police,” said Henson.
He quoted Governor Pineda as urging the newly trained group of 90 motorcycle-riding police to "do their task beyond the call of duty and protect the welfare and businesses of the people."
Madrid thanked the governor, Vice-Governor Dennis Pineda and the PB for supporting the police in improving their anti-crime operations.
Madrid, Superintendent Alexander Mariano, Superintendent Ricardo Pangan Jr. and Superintendent Bernardo Perez presented to Pineda on Monday at the Capitol a plaque of appreciation for her all-out support to the motorcycle riding course. (JTD)
