ANGELES CITY – Barangay Pandan headed by Chairman Jerry Alejandrino in this city has started preparing for the rainy season and impending flooding.
Village councilman Bernardo Villavicencio said that Alejandrino has already initiated sandbagging operations to let avert flooding in the barangay in the midst of the on-going rehabilitation and widening of the Pandan-Magalang Road which the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) would be “finished ahead of schedule.”
According to Villavicencio, the barangay council is conducting de-clogging and cleaning of alleys and existing waterways to avert impending floods.
“Mostly po preparado itong Barangay Pandan as far as evacuation is concerned, kasi meron naman po eh,” he said.
Villavicencio also disclosed that the village council has proposed to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council the purchase of boats from their calamity fund to have the barangay fully prepared in case of flooding.
