CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Governor Lilia Pineda over the weekend sought the help of farmers in protecting the environment by ridding waterways and irrigation of improperly disposed garbage and to go organic in their farmlands as well.

During the induction of the new officers of the Provincial Agricultural and Fisheries Council (PAFC) at Capitol, the governor said that farmers play an important role in protecting the environment and assisting in the Provincial Government's solid waste management program.

She also urged PAFC members to avail themselves of Capitol's health services and point of care program it conducts in cooperation with Philhealth.

Pineda also urged the PAFC to maximize the farm equipment given them, like the first 20 of some 100 shallow tube wells.

Sama-sama tayong paunlarin ang agrikultura sa Pampanga," she said. (JTD)
