CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- A prominent businessman has donated three motorbikes to the Pampanga police office to help them prevent crimes and stop suspects riding-in-tandem on motorcycles.
Senior Superintendent Marlon Valdez Madrid, Pampanga police director, received on Friday the three units of 180cc motorbikes from Erwin Dizon, president of the St. Peter Calungsod Realty.
Dizon was represented by Engr. Roman Galvano.
The motorbikes were worth at least P80,000 each.
"Our president Erwin Dizon donated the bikes because he knew that some crimes could have been prevented if the cops were fully equipped," said Galvano.
Madrid thanked Dizon for the donation. "I believe they know that we need lots of support, especially on logistics," he said.
Madrid said the motorbikes would be used by the Mabalacat City police office.
Last month, at least 49 policemen graduated from the Tactical Motorcycle Riding Crash Course at the PPO office here.
The training is supported by Governor Lilia Pineda, who is set to give at least six 250cc motorcycles to the local police. Pineda already gave 30 units of 250cc motorcycles to the PPO since she assumed her post in 2010. (JTD)
