CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Some 15 traffic enforcers and officers received commendations from Mayor Edwin Santiago for their support to the San Fernando Police in its intensified campaign against motorcycle riding criminal suspects operating in the city.

Santiago awarded the commendations to Traffic Management Division chief Renato Pineda, and members Oliver Villanueva, Joey Manalastas, Ariel Magtoto, Jeffrey David, Nelson Clacio, Lito Cruz, Richard Tadeo, Joey Magtoto, Sherwin Gando, Raymark Magtoto, Ronald Palma, Elmer Salangsang, Ramil Antigo and Heintagie Dizon during Monday's flag raising ceremony attended by city government employees and officials.

"They have helped our PNP in their intensified campaign against lawless elements through checkpoints and implementation of Oplan Sita, Helmet Law, and Dragnet," said Santiago.

Santiago said that peace and order is a main thrust of his administration under the 12-point agenda dubbed "Katiwasayan at Seguridad ng mamamayan, mapayapang pamayanan."

Police Chief Edilberto Pitallano praised the awardees for their contributions in the arrest of suspects who usually use motorcycles and other vehicles in the perpetration of criminal activities.

"Your loyalty, devotion to duty and whole-heartedness immensely contributed in our operations, thus contributing to the plans and programs beneficial to our community," Pitallano said.

The San Fernando traffic group is composed of only 70 personnel but was able to apprehend some 2,000 traffic violators since October last year.
