CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - The Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO) singing cops were adjudged over-all champion in the Quest for Hymn competition conducted by the Police Regional Office-Central Luzon.

PRO3 director Chief Superintendent Raul Petrasanta launched Quest for PRO3 Hymn to get the official hymn of the regional police office.

In second place were the singing policemen of the Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB3) headed by Superintendent Sidney Villaflor, while the third place was bagged by the Tarlac Police Provincial Office.

Eleven provincial and city police offices competed in the quest, which presented their original musical compositions with scores.

The activity was initiated by the Regional Police Community Relations Division (RPCRD3) headed by Senior Superintendent Danilo Florentino and Superintendent Maylyn Domingo, deputy RPCRD3.

Senior Superintendent Ronald Santos, Deputy Regional Director for Administration said that the PRO3 Search for the Singing Police showcased “our musically gifted men and women in uniform showed another face of the police force, that we are not only good in shooting the targets but we are also good in hitting the notes. Indeed, it is worthwhile to replicate said activity but now with an altered yet equally significant objective, which is to select an essential aspect in the history of Police Regional Office 3, our PRO3 official hymn.”

“Taken at a face value, our would-be-hymn’s lyrics would extol our virtues as police officers as well as distinct us from other Police Regional Offices since it represents our PRO wholly. On this note, once again let me express my gratitude to all of you who made this event such a success,” Santos added.

“Ang lahat ng mga lumahok ay magaganda ang kanilang composition at hymn ngunit siyempre mayroon mapipiling mas magaling sa kanila,” he said.

Judges in the competition included Santos, Senior Superintendent Marvin Omar Buenafe, Superintendent Edgar Cacayan, chief of the Regional Logistics Division and Florentino.

Those who participated in the Quest for PRO3 Hymn were police offices from Pampanga, Bulacan, Zambales, Bataan and the cities of Olongapo and Angeles City. (Ric Sapnu)
