MABALACAT CITY -- Governor Lilia Pineda visited Tuesday the almost finished P14-million two-storey extension building of Mabalacat District Hospital (MDH).

Andy Austria, project engineer, said the expansion building will house the out-patient department, hospital rooms intended for the executive check-up of the barangay officials, administrative offices and dialysis center.

Austria said that the dialysis center alone was funded by former congressman Carmelo Lazatin in the amount of P1.5-million and the rest of the P12.5-million came from the funds of the Provincial Government.

The governor said the dialysis center will be run through a private public partnership scheme of the Provincial Capitol to further enhance the capability and operations of the center.

The governor said the Capitol will provide necessary medical equipment during the inspection of the hospital yesterday.

The governor said with the existing and expansion buildings of the MDH, the dream of the Mabalaquenos to have a modern hospital is now realized.

The MDH has now four major services including medical, general surgery, OB gynecology, pediatrics, dialysis center, medical laboratory, drug store, rehabilitation medicine, ophthalmology center, among others.

Dr. Benjamin Arboleda, MDH chief, expressed gratitude to Governor Pineda for the nearing completion of the expansion building of the hospital.

The chief of hospital said they have now a well-equipped hospital, but they want to be known for providing quality service.

The governor was accompanied during her visit by First District Representative Joseller “Yeng” Guiao, Board Members Crisostomo Garbo and Cherry Manalo, Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Officer Arthur Punsalan, Engr. Andy Henson of the provincial planning department, and Engineers Austria and Olimpio Pangan of the Provincial Engineering Office.
