CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Kapampangan Development Foundation (KDF) has started the operation of a weekend market that features the sale of agriculture products for farmers and provides indigents the opportunity to sell agricultural products at the Jose A. Datu Medical Center.
KDF trustee Sylvia Ordonez said the program aims to help small businessmen and farmers become entrepreneurs. The program features the sale of fruit tree seedlings and herbs, while vendors from Sasmuan and Candaba, as well as the vegetables of Clark and dry goods of Angeles City's Apo Day and DSWD livelihood products will be showcased in the event.
The event is part of the ongoing program of KDF for the agriculture sector.
KDF president Benigno Ricafort said the event is part of the ongoing livelihood programs of their organization, which promotes livelihood generation through local empowerment of various community sectors.
KDF is also hosting upcoming seminars that will deal with establishing a BPI-accredited fruit nursery, bee keeping and mushroom cultivation.
Interested participants are asked to coordinate with the KDF offices at the Social Action Center of Pampanga in Barangay Maimpis City of San Fernando and the Jose A. Datu Medical Center here.
KDF was established by Kapampangans living outside of Pampanga to provide development, medical, and social programs for Pampanga. With its operations base at the Jose A. Datu Medical Center, it has been able to facilitate the distribution of hundreds of leg prosthesis to amputees of Pampanga, and provide dozens of reconstructive facial surgeries, and cataract operations to indigents.
Recently, the KDF hosted Organic Swine and Quail Egg Raising and Food Processing Seminars to local beneficiaries. All of the seminars provided by KDF are free.
