Foundation’s medical mission benefit Lubao folks

LUBAO- Some 2,000 indigent individuals here benefitted from a medical mission dubbed "Puso Para Sa Bayan Caravan" sponsored by the J.C. Binay Foundation over the weekend.

Makati Congresswoman Mar-Len Abigail Binay, daughter of Vice President Jejomar Binay, said the caravan is aimed to provide health, legal and other social services to poor families in different parts of the country.

"We started this last May and now naka four na kami, two of which are in the towns of Pampanga namely Masantol and now Lubao. By next Month sa Tarlac naman kami and La Union, hopefully December sa Ormoc kami and by next year will be visiting Visayas and Mindanao para makatulong tayo sa mga kababayan natin in various parts of the country," Binay said.

She said services provided were free check up, medicines, hair cut, dental services, legal services , eye glasses, reading program for children , variety show and others.

Binay said that private corporations fund the caravan. She said the Foundation coordinates with the local government units in designating their venues for the project.

Mayor Mylyn Pineda Cayabyab said that the people of Lubao are very grateful for the assistance of the foundation.

"Minsan lang po tayo nabibigyan ng ganitong grasya kaya napakahalaga po nito sa atin mga mahihirap na kababayan na mabigyan sila ng ibat ibang serbisyo sa pamamagitan ng J.C. Binay Foundation at mga private corporations, maraming maraming salamat po sa inyo," Cayabyab said.

"Sana po ay magbalik muli ang Puso Para Sa Baya Caravan di lamang po sa aming bayan kundi mga iba pang bayan ng probinsyang kapampangan para marami pa pi silang matulungan, Cayabyab added.

Vice Governor Dennis Pineda lauded project saying it greatly helped people of the province. He said that the provincial government, under the leadership of his mother -- Governor Lilia Pineda, is supportive of health services provided by foundations and private firms.

" Ang pagbibigay nga serbiyong medical ay isa sa mga prioridad ng provincial government at kami sa Sanggunian Palalawiga ay sumusuporta sa ibat ibang programa ng atin mahal na gobernador sa larangan ng infrastructure, social services, job generation, livelihood graining, investment, peace and order at iba pa," Pineda said.
