SAN SIMON – At least 48 loud motorcycle mufflers that were confiscated from April 1 to June 13, 2017, were destroyed by the Municipal Government on Wednesday in front of the municipal hall.

The said modified mufflers were seized from motorcycles plying this town, especially those passing by schools and church zones.

Chief Inspector Jose Charlmar Gundaya, San Simon police chief, said that almost 200 mufflers were already seized since an ordinance against loud mufflers was implemented.

“This is already the third batch of loud mufflers that were confiscated and destroyed and we will continue to implement the ordinance as long as there are hard-headed motorists who continue to continue to use them,” he said.

Gundaya also said that the ordinance does not only cover Simonian motorists, but also those who enter the municipality.
