Thursday, July 06, 2017

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Veteran columnist Edgardo “Ed” Aguilar, Sr. had joined his Creator on July 5, 2017. He was 75.

“Tang Ed”, as he was fondly called by colleagues, was also known by his pen names “Macky Pangan,” “Dan U. Pan,” and “Domingo de Ramos.”

A Kapampangan poet by heart, Aguilar suffered from a stroke last Wednesday afternoon in his home in Gemsville Subdivision, located in this city.

Born on September 13, 1941, he wrote for The Voice, Central Luzon Daily, and SunStar Pampanga, and is remembered by his readers for his humor and joyous spirit. He was also a member of the Multi-Sectoral Governance Council of this city.

He is survived by his wife Mary, 75; and children Sheryl Ann, 39; John Paul, 36; and Edgardo, Jr., 31.

His remains now lie at the Good Shepherd Memorial Park in this city. Interment is tentatively scheduled at 9 a.m. July 12, Wednesday. (RDF)
