MABALACAT City officials are targeting a budget of P1.5 billion for 2018.
This was learned during a two-day budget forum at Royce Hotel in Clark Freeport, which was initiated by Mayor Crisostomo Garbo.
Lawyer Emmanuel Ignacio, legal officer of Mabalacat City, disclosed that a big chunk of the city’s proposed 2018 budget will go to health and medical services and peace and order.
“Our priorities include medical assistance and health services for our indigent Kabalens. We are also looking into appropriations for our peace and order,” Ignacio said.
The City Government is planning to acquire a van for the Special Weapons and Tactics (Swat) and other equipment for the local police, he added.
City Administrator Rosano Paquia said that the proposed budget prepared during the mayor’s office budget forum will be presented to the City Council in the next few weeks for approval.
Garbo said the local government has tied up with some hospitals including the Saint Raphael Medical Center, The Medical City Clark, Angeles University Foundation Medical Center, Sacred Heart Medical Center and others for its medical assistance program.
The mayor said the city may provide for as much as P50,000 for each indigent patient categorized by social worker Class C or the “poorest of the poor.”
