Homeowners association attend basic disaster preparedness seminar

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO---Members of the Homeowners Association of Miranda Compound in Barangay Maimpis attended a Basic Disaster Preparedness Seminar on October 5 at the Heroes Hall here.

The activity was realized through the effort of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office in an aim to raise awareness on the importance of disaster preparedness among Fernandinos.

Topics discussed were the tips on how to be prepared and resilient in times of emergencies and the proper treatment for disaster-related injuries.

Meanwhile, to ensure that persons with disabilities (PWDs) are also prepared during disasters and emergencies, the City Government of San Fernando hosted a Basic Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Training Course for PWDs on the same day.

This was organized by the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council III in partnership with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office.

Among the topics highlighted during the activity were the hydromet hazards and their effects to people and the environment, earthquake drills and basic first aid in times of disaster and the implementing rules and regulations of Republic Act 10754 or an Act Expanding the Benefits and Privileges of PWDs.
