CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz announced that February 25, or the commemoration of the Edsa Revolution is a regular working day across the country.
Based on Proclamation Number 84, Baldoz said President Benigno Aquino III declared the 25th anniversary commemoration of the Edsa Revolution as a special holiday only for schools nationwide, but not for government and private offices.
"It's not necessary to issue an advisory on the pay rules to the country's workers, as February 25 remains a regular working day nationwide, consistent with the practice of the previous years," Baldoz said in response to queries of workers regarding February 25.
Baldoz, however, encouraged all sectors to share in the spirit of the momentous occasion.
In his proclamation, President Aquino said the Edsa People Power Revolution, which restored and ushered political, social and economic reforms in the country, serves as an inspiration to Filipinos everywhere as a nation and as a people. (Charlene Cayabyab)
