MABALACAT –- The town police recently apprehended a person after having been suspected of possessing illegal drugs.
Rommel Sebastian Garcia 28, single, of Bagong Lipunan Street in Barangay Duquit, was charged before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor for violating Article 11 (drug possession) of Republic Act Number 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Superintendent Rolly Mendoza, town police chief, said elements of the police intelligence division were conducting surveillance on illegal drugs in said village when they chanced upon the suspect.
When accosted by the police officers, Garcia reportedly ran and threw a small sachet containing suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, Mendoza said.
The suspect yielded another sachet containing drugs when apprehended by cops.
Garcia is now detained at the Mabalacat Police Station but will be turned over to the Angeles City District Jail.
