CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Some 70 registered nurses received Tuesday their Nurses Assigned in Rural Service (Nars) kits which they will use in their assignment and deployment to rural areas.
The nurses were awarded their kits at the Capitol by Governor Eddie Panlilio and officials from the provincial Public Employment Services Office (Peso) and the regional office of the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole).

The nurses were part of the 235 trainees earlier chosen by the Peso and Dole from 45 municipalities all over Central Luzon.
The nurses previously underwent a two-day program orientation on October 29 and 30.
According to Dole information officer Jerry Borja, Nars is a training and employment program conducted by Dole, the Department of Health (DOH), the Professional Regulation Commission-Board of Nursing (PRC-BON) and other line agencies.
He said the program is designed to mobilize registered nurses to the poorest communities of the region to improve the delivery of health care services. He said the 70 nurse trainees will be assigned to the different rural health facilities in Pampanga.
Borja said that completion of the Nars training program shall be considered as a substitute for the work experience requirement of hospitals and other health facilities, both local and overseas. The Certificate of Completion shall be issued jointly by the Dole, DOH and PRC.
