Tulabut: Who does that?
My Palm Notes
Saturday, October 1, 2011
IN MOVIES, I often see and hear some characters asking the question "Who does that?" It is used more as a phrase than just a mere question in order to drive a point.
Drive a point, we could do in this piece as we borrow that line. So who does what?
Have something to report? Tell us in text, photos or videos.

Who is it that recently won a prestigious Agora Award from the Philippine Marketing Education for professionalism and exemplary contributions to marketing education?
Who is it that same person, who, only six months ago was also cited by her own peers in the academe and conferred to her a citation for being an Outstanding Business Educator (in Marketing), an award given by the Philippine Council of Deans and Educators in Business?
Who is it really that exudes professional excellence despite the fact that she has to endure emotional and physical stress as her Dad was seriously ill and eventually joined our Creator.
Who does that? Dr. Chere Cato-Yturralde, dean of College of Business Administration of Angeles University Foundation. She is the sister of good friend and journalist-turned-diplomat Elmer Cato who has also excelled in foreign relations service.

Who is it among Pampanga congressmen who has came up with many bright ideas lately, going even to the less understood but more scientifically useful stem-cell technology?
Who is it that went beyond the usual do goodies of legislating names for roads and bridges? Who is it that upped the level of lawmaking by calling for the establishment of Stem Cell Center where evasive cures for many illnesses could be formulated?
Who is it that is now calling for a fixed tenure for Clark officials in a unified body that would implement centralized development program for both the airport and the Freeport? The same proposed legislation that will put in place an MMDA-like agency that would also take care of nagging waste disposal problem in Metro Clark area.
Who is it that has seasoned well as a veteran lawmaker as he minds the cross section of society especially with his recent bills for the elderly, persons with disabilities, the marginalized and even the dead (cadavers held hostage for inability to pay hospital bills).
Who does that? Representative Carmelo "Tarzan" Lazatin whose Chief of Staff IC Calaguas deflects the credit from her wits to the greatness of her boss.

Who among Pampanga mayors who does not know how to retaliate to detractors, even at their foulest moves?
Who is it that keeps his patented smiles even in the face of adversity or whenever someone tries to pick up a fight against this local chief executive?
Who is it that just elicits suggestions and solutions from the same persons or detractors that hurl criticisms against him, his administration, his ways, his means?
Who is it that knows how to apply the biblical principle of turning the other cheek and heaping a coal on heads of adversaries and win them over to his side?
Who was it that continued to love his daughter who went up against him in the last elections where the latter painted of a not-so-rosy picture of their formative years with the Dad Mayor?
Who does that? Mabalacat Mayor Marino "Boking" Morales who can easily win friends, even the most critical ones among his detractors.
