NO ONE is indispensable in government service. Out of expediency, all the so-called public servants can be replaced even before their term of office had expired.

Even then however, there are some elected officials seeking reelection who can be virtually unbeatable. These are they whose performance hit the public taste and had endeared their selves to the majority of the electorates.

Topping the list of the well nigh unbeatable re-electionists is Governor Lilia “Nanay Baby” Pineda. Most everyone in the province and elsewhere look up to her as a benevolent leader and therefore a hard-to-beat candidate. Indeed, they admire her self-styled governance which she tempered with deep compassion and Macedonian liberality of giving to all those in need without respect of person.

In fact, it is likely that Governor Pineda will be running for reelection without a worthy opponent. Until now, members of the opposition party are still
scouting for a candidate to field against her despite the nearness of October. Between day 1 and day 5 of this month is the period the Commission on Elections had set without extension for the candidates to file their certificates of candidacy.
Number 2 in the list is Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab of Lubao.

The charming and talented daughter of Tatay Bong and Nanay Baby comes to the fore by paddling her own canoe. Loathing for a ride on the popularity of her parents, she performs her function in accord with the rule of a good executive. Little wonder then that the town residents consider her an unbeatable candidate.

Listed number 3 is Mayor Yolly Pineda of Sta. Rita. The one and only daughter-in-law of the Governor and her husband is making a mark by running the affairs of municipal governance in a way of her own. For this good reason her political foes are turning into her friends.

Better still, there is no one who had signified an intention to engage her in a one-on-one fight.

Occupying the 4th spot is Mayor Jomar Hizon of Bacolor. The illustrious son of an illustrious mother rules the roost at par with the best national leaders. He governs well enough to make the opposition travel the road to oblivion: former mayor Buddy Dungca is being groomed to be the running mate of Governor Nanay Baby while businessman

Dinan Labung is aiming at the 3rd district congressional seat.

The 5th place belongs to Angeles City Mayor Ed Pamintuan. As yet, a worthy opponent is nowhere in sight even as he expects Robin Nepomuceno to throw down the gauntlet. But though the Nepo clan has a sizeable following in the city, Mayor EdPam nevertheless stays as unbeatable as never before precisely because of his accomplishments that speak well for a certain landslide win.

Number 6 is Congressman Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin of the 1st District. None of his two rivals is capable of giving the Outstanding House Representative a run for his money. On one hand, the best that Blueboy can do to take the cake is to slice a part of it. On the other, Yeng can hardly be a political David who can hit Tarzan the Goliath between the eyes simply because his Art of slinging had gone haywire.

Wearing the number 7 jersey is Mayor Eduardo Dizon Guerrero of Floridablanca. The affable and true blue soldier of Governor Nanay Baby and Congresswoman Ate Glo doesn’t give a damn to whoever his opponents will be.

The reason is that he had armed his unbeatable self to the teeth even as he keeps on doing what ought to be the greatest good for the greatest number of his constituents.

The number 8 unbeatable reelectionist is Mayor Oscar “Jun” Tetangco of Apalit. The religious people of the municipality are happy with the way he handled the town’s affairs so much so that they doubt if someone worth his weight in gold will be opposing him. Nevertheless, the unbeatable reelecting mayor sets about going to the campaign trail with a big following and well-oiled political machinery.

The last but not the least unbeatable reelecting town executive is Mayor Lito Naguit of Sto. Tomas. The electorates of the small town are giving him an assurance of reelection because of his job well done.

For assuring his victory, they are setting an unprecedented record of having a mayor reelected for his third and last term. In effect, they are wittingly or unwittingly making Mayor Naguit a jinx buster.
