The Fight for Balibago-A A +A

UNITED STATES President Obama and PNoy appeared guilty of what business organizations call as psychological breach of contract -- hindi marunong tumupad sa salita.
PNoy is scuttling the infamous PDAF in name but not its total abolishment.
Mr. Obama is quibbling on his threat of air strike on Syria, leaving the free world frustrated if not dismayed by his hesitation.
Unlike President Marcos who wisely set in place the legal and moral premises of his intended actions, Obama was brusque and impulsive in his intent -- he fired from the hip.
US allies are encouraging –- but not joining – Obama's postured strike. Communist terrorists use this strategy: kill the chicken to frighten the monkey.
A strike on Syria is a strong message to the troublesome monkeys of Iran and North Korea -– that bullying and terrifying their neighbors with their nuclear capabilities will not go without retaliation. While Mr. Obama quibbles in quandary over Syria, former Angeles City councilor Alfie Bonifacio has fired his artillery on his bitter rival Chairman Tony Mamac of revenue-rich Barangay Balibago.
Even as T-Mac continues weeding out undesirable elements -- petty thieves and drug pushers in his village, Dr. Alfie has intensified his free dental work to the poor residents. He has pulled enough bad teeth which when translated into a vote per tooth can overwhelm Mamac’s voting strength from Balibago’s influential mamasans.
Kapitan Mamac has a record of two electoral victories over the Bonifacios. He won against Alfie’s father, Don Allan, in a previous barangay election, and recently in the contest for city vice mayor against Alfie. He was placed on the limelight after building what was billed as the best and largest barangay hall in Region 3.
The father and son team are expected to unite resources to match Mamac’s dollar spending style. The Bonifacios’s fortune includes investments in real estate and in financing. The elder Allan had learned his lessons with Mamac and is expected to dig deeper into his treasure chest to get back at T-Mac this October.
His supporters said Bonifacio plans not only to revamp the present governance system but will build a network of services including a modern dental clinic to even up Mamac’s social hygiene and rapid treatment center.
“Mang Tony can even have his aching tooth, if any, extracted free at Dr. Alfie’s private clinic or at the proposed dental center,” according to the popular dentist’s leaders on Josefa street.
“Not if my rival patronizes the rapid treatment center,” the former cop (Major ret.) riposted. This is just the start of a series of campaign skirmishes for the most exciting and expensive battle for Balibago.
May I call the attention of Vice Gov. Dennis Pineda, a known sportsman and godfather of Kapampangan basketball talents, to honor basketball heroes Japeth Aguilar and Jayson Castro as MOKA 1213 Awardees for Sports? BM Michael Tapang is willing to sponsor the proposed Resolution endorsing the joint award for the brilliant cagers.
Aguilar and Castro prominently shone as mainstays of Gilas Pilipinas in the recent Asia Fiba Games where the nation got the silver medal. Delta is doing well as the Governor’s alter ego in political trouble shooting and in the task for relief and rescue efforts along with PDRM officer Ms. Angie Blanco.
It is wonderful to get answers to our prayers,
But is even more wonderful to let God
Mould us into answer for prayers
