"Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values.”
-- Mahatma Gandhi
ENERGIZING our unique passport to success is the value of wisdom.
Spreading across the globe like the golden morning rays of sunlight, knowledge transform our minds, inspire our hearts and ennobles our spirits. Breaking through the walls of literacy, it stirs us to uphold the lamp of new beginnings and dreams.
YEAH! You and I have the power to soar high to the azure skies above our Kapampangan terra firma because we spin through the winds of sacred knowledge. Let us now zoom in our local community in Angeles City.
Mayor Ed Pamintuan
“Providing quality and affordable education to everyone is the only way to break the cycle of poverty,” is the uplifting call of Mayor Ed resounding across the city’s thirty three barangays. Moving heaven and earth to provide empowering knowledge, our No. 8 World best Mayor is maximizing the city’s resources in bringing the positive smile to our brother/sister Cabalens (city mates).
Last June, a total of 1,250 students started using the newly-constructed campus of the City College of Angeles (CCA) in Barangay Pampang. Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan, along with city and school officials welcomed CCA students in their new academic home.
In accordance with Republic Act (RA) No. 7722 otherwise known as the “Higher Education Act of 1994”, CCA is now authorized to offer 4-year courses effective this academic year 2013-2014.
New courses offered this school year are: BS in Computer Science, BS in Information Systems, BS in Tourism Management, Bachelor in Physical Education and Bachelor in Technical Teacher Education major in Food and Service Management.
“We want to give the best to our students. We want CCA to produce marketable and quality graduates. Beneficial employment is our passionate goal as we strengthen their capabilities as they pursue their careers. Touching their lives, we ascend the mountain of victory for them, their family and their familiar barangay,” Mayor Ed enthusiastically affirmed.
Last school year, the city college offered associate degrees in Computer Science, Information Systems and Tourism which are “ladderized” programs that can be pursued to further the bachelors’ degree courses.
The school is also looking at the possibility of offering Bachelor of Library and Information Science and BS Psychology major in Guidance and Counseling and Social Work, since the demands for these courses are high.
Alleluia! Kudos to Mayor Pamintuan and his team of educational gatekeepers for keeping their promise in the Contract with the Angeleños to proffer eminent education to our deserving students in the city.
You and I are in our quest to honor the values of education and optimize our intellectual talents. Lighting up the torch of knowledge, we open the gateway to summum bonum or the highest good for all.
How the treasure house of education heartens each one of us until our last days on earth!
Yes to wisdom… Yes to sagacity… Yes to raising up our passport to success.
