Muy Sabrosa Fiesta-A A +A
Saturday, October 19, 2013
EXUDING the art of ‘muy sabrosa fiesta’ (delicious festival), Angelenas/Angelenos celebrate the blessings of a golden October.
Delectable food galore intermixes with thrilling cultural/sporting events, magnifying thanksgiving prayers are offered in our church, matching gaiety with deeds of gratitude; truly, our cabalens (city mates) are one in dashing towards the pathway to happiness.
Beloved World’s Best Mayor who is ranked no. eight across the globe, Mayor Ed Pamintuan enthusiastically welcomes everyone. He states:
“Vamos! Come to our luncheon/dinner buffet on October 20 to savor our famous “Pamangan Fiestang Kapampangan”. Highlighting the best, tastiest and choicest food dishes, we will share with you our fabulous cooking talents. Friends call us the ‘culinary capital of Pampanga’. We are inspired by these encouraging sentiments.
Kudos to Mayor Edpam and his First Lady Miniang. Graciously attending to the city’s guests, First Lady (FL) Miniang ensures that this event rises up as a culinary success. Verily, she is a profile of Kapampangan elegance.
Savor the sizzling and spicy pork sisig plate oozing with succulence prepared by FL Miniang.
Breathe in the aroma of sautéed onions, garlic and pepper. Titillate your taste buds with the yummy beef caldereta (stew) cooked by Chef Jinggoy A. Roque (Juan Sebastien). What an appetizing dish it is.
Reach the culinary high five by eating the Pan de Bagnet (Claude Tayag). Enjoy its crispy bagnet placed on toasted ciabatta bread. Taste the scrumptious chicken adobo (Maranao Grill), embutido (Angeles University), kalabasa lasagna (Therese Tayag) and adobung camaru (mole crickets) by 19 Copungcopung.
Relish the Doy’s Kapampangan Pizza(Camalig). Oohs and aahs will echo from every table as they consume the birenghi (Cabalen) which is a glutinous rice-based dish simmered to a perfect green serving.
Let us now walk towards the dessert table. Fill your sweet tooth with the glory of tibuk-tibuk (carabaos milk pudding). Feel the sweetness blend of the rich carabao’s milk smoothly mix in your palate. Dip your fingers into the fresh fruits plate and turun with langka sauce (Juan Sebastien). Whiff the ambrosial flavors of the bukayung kamuti (sweetened potatoes) by FL Miniang.
Alleluia…what an unforgettable Sunday feast.
In sum, we take our hats off to our city leaders and world-class chefs for sharing their generous spirits and food masterpieces.
Furthermore, I proudly salute Museo Officer Joy L. Cruz, together with Kim Tinio and Rhoda Salazar , for their persevering and industrious Fiestang Kuliat teamwork. Truly, they reflect the Kapampangan esprit de corps or team work.
Dear readers, you and I are the proud daughters/sons of Kapampangan ingenuity, innovation and idyllic cooking.
For all times, let us raise our glass of appreciation to a ‘muy sabrosa fiesta’!
