POLITICS-Senator Alan Peter Cayetano made an open declaration of his intention to run for a higher office, the presidency. He is making the rounds. He was in Angeles City few days ago and met with my colleague Lito Ganzon, president of the league of barangay executives. The next day he went up north. He is dead serious, but methinks he is positioning for vice presidency. Cayetano vs. Jinggoy Estrada. Let us see who will get clobbered!

MORE POLITICS -- The possibility of another Kapampangan in Malacanang is not far-fetched. Silent water run deep, so they say. Manuel V. Pangilinan aka MVP of Apalit Pampanga is rumored to be consolidating forces and his 'boys' are recruting people for a possible run for presidency. If ever, he can ride in tandem with Alan Peter. He clicks with the young mestisos.

THREE IN SUCCESSION -- After Gloria Macapagal Arroyo of Lubao, Pampanga came Noynoy of San Miguel, Tarlac. In any event, the two dominant political parties, the Liberal Party and the Nacionalista Party will not field former senator now Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas due to poor showing in the surveys, there is queen of media Kris Aquino. Three cornered fight, with Vice President Jejomar Binay also in the ring. Kris maybe non-committal at this stage, but if only to save his kuya from plunder charges and be detained like GMA, she may reconsider. Today she says, no. Tomorrow she may say yes. Only fools don't change their minds.

SILENT -- Why is Congressman Oscar Rodriguez so silent in the Aldrin Jeff Cudia case? The young cadet is from Arayat, a town which is part of his congressional district. Did you know that there was a time cadets coming from the provinces were recommended by their congressmen? He should help his constituents. May I suggest to Congressman Oca to initiate a congressional investigation regarding Cudia's case. Will Congressmen Yeng Guiao, Rimpy Bondoc and GMA lend a helping hand. Let us save Cadet Cudia.

HONOR SYSTEM -- Met Retired Colonel Pete Retirado, a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) class 1983 at the Mundang's restaurant of Kings Royale Hotel in Bacolor and queried about the honor system in his alma mater.

'It is one ball system', he said. Meaning of the nine cadets who will vote, just one not guilty vote cast, will acquit Cudia. Now it seems, per investigation, one of the nine was pressured into changing his NOT guilty verdict into guilty.

PERPLEXING -- Cadet Cudia's parents, siblings and townmates may not fully understand what is PMA's honor system is all about. Many are asking why is it that just being late for two minutes and your commandant didn't like your explanation, you'll be penalized and not joining mistahs in graduation and even get expelled?

Why is it that many Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police officials who were graduates of the PMA involved in multi-million peso scams, the likes of Carlos Garcia, Benjamin Ligot, et.al. remain in the PMA roster?

Hundreds or maybe thousands of those who passed through the portal of the military academy were involved in different types of shenanigans, not only lying but stealing taxpayers money. Their names remain in the PMA roster. Can you scratch them please.

CRIMES IN THE CITY -- Balibago Barangay Captain Rodelio 'Tony' Mamac was photographed carrying a long firearm in the middle of a busy street directing traffic. But there was a reason why he was wielding an armalite rifle. He was informed of a robbery being staged by a riding in tandem suspects at one in the afternoon at nearby Robinsons Mall near the Abacan bridge. It seems he was willing to engage the suspects. For your information, Mamac was a retired police officer.

In the meantime, while our City Mayor Ed Pamintuan is reaping all those hossanahs, awards, etcetera, crimes in the city are increasing by the day. And no solutions yet on the high profile crimes like the murder of Tetangco and Yap. The massacre in L&S subdivision in Sto Domingo and the killing of Barangay Captain Efren De La Cruz of Sto. Cristo and many more.
