Saturday, June 28, 2014
CONGRATULATIONS to the officers and members of the Soroptomist International (S.I.) of Magalang for empowering their sisters in utilizing their talents and potentials.
Exuding their untiring efforts in advocating the cause of women who need help, they profile summum bonum (highest good).
Globally, Soroptimist International is a worldwide volunteer movement working together to transform the lives of women and girls. Their network of over 80,000 club members in 129 countries and territories works at a local, national and international level. Educating and enabling women and girls are their excellent code of service.
Translated from Latin, Soroptimist is a coined term meaning "best for women."
The first Soroptimist club was formed in 1921 by a group of 80 women in Oakland, Alameda County, California.
Zooming in our Kapampangan heartland, we heard this good news from compassionate, convincing and committed past president Bing Feliciano.

Mabuhay kayong lahat!
You and I are one.
Yearning for excellence, we soar high on the winds of accomplishment. Concomitantly, we offer our loving words and deeds to our sisters/brothers.
Raising our arms in service and voicing our call of compassion, we become like the beacon lighting up the hearts, minds and spirits of womankind/humankind!
Hallelujah to women who are leaders in our Kapampangan terra firma (grounds) because they wave the banner of community empowerment!
