Nutrition matters-A A +A
At Close Range

IT HAS become a nourishing habit for Socorro "Cora" Lorena, Mabalacat City Nutrition Action Officer and her staff to conduct monthly nutrition-oriented activities amongst the city's indigent and malnourished residents.
Cora, also a registered nurse, knows whereof her office is directing the resources assigned to her and her office. Involving even the Regional Nutrition Committee in her advocacy, Cora inspires participation and commitment to her fellow department/office heads through her strong advocacy to maintain good physical health and nourishment.
Her activity at Jade Hall, Xevera last week was the latest undertaking to carry on her advocacy on good health. After all, like Mayor Marino "Boking" Morales, she ascribes to the wise that a sound mind in a sound body makes for a fit populace. No one can argue with that.

INC's Philippine Arena, an architectural and engineering marvel, so says General Evangelist Brother Bienvenido Santiago and it is not an exaggeration, as this new structure reflects the loyalty of the members of this fast-growing religious sect. Every centavo of the members' tithes is received in good faith, recorded and accounted for and put to best use
such as this huge structure which can accommodate as many as 55,000 people. Additionally, two more structures are hoped to be built in the 50-hectare property called Ciudad de Victoria in Bocaue, Bulacan: the Philippine Sports Stadium and the Philippine Sports Center.
Still, the INC would allow the use of the Philippine Arena and the other
facilities for the general public and even to the international community, but the caveat is that it reserves the right to choose what
activities could take place there.
From current reports, the establishment of the Philippine Arena could
bring about progress and development to the otherwise inactive Bocaue town. Already, several properties ae being eyed for acquisition by this religious sect and by others who anticipate a boom in this formerly obscure Bulacan town.
The massive structure, coming on the occasion of the centennial of
the INC's founding, is a glowing tribute to the excellent leadership
of the sect and a fitting example of how the frugal and faithful
handling of collections from its members can produce a world wonder.
Quite self-effacingly, the INC Philippine Arena could have been named
INC Arena or Manalo Complex, but its leadership chose to name it
Philippine Arena so as Brother Santiago says: "for the honor of the
Philippines, for the benefit of the Filipino people and most of all,
for the glory of God".

Eid el Ftr. Another Muslim traditional observance which merited the
declaration of a national holiday just so we could celebrate the end
of Ramadhan with our Muslim brothers. We are one with them, but
are they one with us?
