Relevant training for women

SOME 55 WOMEN of Mabalacat City answered the call for trainees to a two-day meat processing course held at Peso Marina in Dau and Sapang Biabas barangay hall by Global Experts School of Science and Technology, with principal place of business at San Agustin, City of San Fernando.

The intensive training, wherein the participants were involved in hands-on demonstration, taught them how to cook hamonado embutido, siomail, chicken roll. longganisa and sisig in saleable quantity, costing to derive a profit and start their way to entrepreneurship.

Participants were divided into groups A & B and were made to observe the experienced instructor on how to start cooking various food items that they can sell. Ingredients for each menu were shown on the wide screen provided by Globex as well as the step-by-step procedure on how to prepare the food item.

Before the start of the cooking demonstration, Mrs. Marilou M. Aquino of Globex gave an impassioned motivational message to the participants.

The women's leagues of Dau and Sapang Biabas came in full force and stayed until the completion of the training. Towards the end of the morning session, 1st district board member Cherry Manalo came and delivered another pep talk to the women participants, including representatives from Atlu Bola and Tabun.

Other trainings scheduled this August will include fashion accessories, continuation of the cosmetology course, candle making and soap making. All these are geared toward giving the women sector of Mabalacat the skills, knowhow and exposure to start on their own as entrepreneurs. I heard
Madam Nina is supportive of the activities of the women's groups.

Peso Mabalacat, which is up for institutionalization, courtesy of the Dole provincial office and with the support of Mayor Marino "Boking" Morales and Councilor Carlo Nino Rivera, has a busy schedule of SRAs, career guidance and local recruitment.
