De Leon: When millennials and baby boomers exchange resolution tweets

LISTEN, I’m a proud millennial but I love a good baby boomer drag. A few days before fireworks covered the sky, people in the social media community began to tweet using the hashtag #MillennialNewYearResolution, and I was dying at how much people reacted hilariously.

Here are some of the best responses that #burned (made fun of) millennials:

1. Only go to work on odd numbered days because they can’t even.

2. Going to stop job hopping.

3. Looking up from phone 30 seconds every day.

4. To only say ‘fam’ to actual family.

5. Stop saying no to offers and start saying ‘yaaass’.

6. Read a book from beginning to end (in that order).

7. Be true to selfie.

8. Start adulating.

Likewise, millennials poked fun at baby boomers by sharing resolutions. Listen, if you're one don't get #triggered (angry) They are not meant to be taken too seriously! (Or maybe yes?)

1. Start being nice to people in retail/customer service.

2. Limit saying ‘back in my day’ to once per day.

3. Stop dragging us for not getting a job. I’m sorry I need a PhD, 3 Masters Degrees and sell my soul to be employed.

4. Learn how to set up a new phone or tablet without any help.

5. Stop saying 'I’m impressed' every time a millennial knows something about history that occurred prior to 1990.

6. Limit asking to speak to the manager to three times per week.

7. Stop making fun of young people for being on their phones so much. We’re sure you did it if you had google too, back then.

There you have it and thank you titos and titas for being a good sport!

You see, new year's day is always fresh start. A new chapter in life waiting to be written. New questions to be asked, embraced, and loved. New answers to be discovered and then lived in this. New resolutions to made or broken. New hashtags to be created and new slangs to be uttered!

Stay Active in 2018!
